I am human! I struggle to cope with stress in a healthy way! My stress is linked with my stomach! I continue to say I am tired of this but I am a yo-yo in this department! I am sick of eatting my way to happiness but it's not something that can just be magically solved. I want your thoughts and your advice! So far my best solution is to stay busy but than when I settle down I want to eat !
What are some of your ideas that help you with emotional eatting?
Welcome to my life! You have to read "As A Man Thinketh" - it's not enough to change our diets - we have to change our thoughts and our natures through the Atonement to have pure thoughts and natures that don't want unhealthy food. I'm still working on that :)
ReplyDeleteMy best suggestion is to start with small changes. Start by adding regular exercise into your routine. Set achievable stepping stones for yourself. Like the first day plan to drive to the gym. If you don't feel like going in, that's fine, go home. The second day plan to go to the gym and change. If you don't feel like working out that's fine, go home. The third day plan to go, change and work out for 15 minutes. Build from there. As your body adjusts and expects the exercise, your body will want better fuel.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's great that you recognize emotional eating. The next time you start to do it, find another activity that comforts you. Maybe reading, calling a friend or going for a walk? You know what works best for you.
And you know what some times you're just going to eat some chocolate and ice cream. That's perfectly OK. It doesn't make you weak or less of a person because you ate something unhealthy. It's all about balance.
I don't care how pure our natures are, I'm pretty sure we will all still like chocolate in Heaven.
